Material:
Spunbond Spunlace Non-Woven Fabric: This type, often made from Polyester or Nylon, is much
stronger, more cloth-like, and highly durable when wet. It is used in medical fabrics and premium wipes.
Specific Requirement: The fabric must be hydroentangled (spunlaced) for strength and have a high
wet tensile strength.
Breathability & Drainage: The fabric must allow water to flow through it easily during the washing and
rinsing process. A very tight weave is not desirable.
Seam Bonding (The Biggest Challenge): The glue used to create the individual pockets must be
waterproof and flexible.
Polyurethane (PU) Hot Melt Adhesive: This is a strong candidate. Certain types of PU adhesive remain
flexible and maintain their bond after repeated wet/dry cycles.
Ultrasonic Welding: This is the ideal method. It uses high-frequency sound waves to melt the fabric
strands together, fusing them into a single piece without any glue. This creates a seam that is as strong
as the fabric itself and completely impervious to water, detergent, and agitation. You must ask your
manufacturer if they have this capability.
