springs are then glued or connected together to form a single, cohesive unit. This design is the industry

standard for high-quality mattresses due to its superior comfort and support.

Key Features & Characteristics

Individual Pocketed Springs:
- Independent Movement: This is the defining feature. Each spring compresses independently,
- reacting only to the pressure directly above it. This means movement is isolated, so if one person
- moves or gets out of bed, the disturbance is not transferred across the mattress.
- Contouring Support: The independent action allows the springs to closely contour to the body's
- shape, providing targeted support to different areas (hips, shoulders, etc.) and promoting proper
- spinal alignment.
Spring Count:
- This refers to the total number of springs in the mattress. Counts can range from around 500 for a
- basic model to 2000+ for a luxury model.
- General Rule: A higher spring count typically means the springs are smaller and can be packed
- more densely. This allows for more precise and granular support, reducing the feeling of lying on a
- spring unit and enhancing comfort. However, spring count is just one factor; wire gauge and temper
- are equally important.
Wire Gauge (Thickness):
- This measures the thickness of the steel wire used in the springs. It's a inverse number: a lower
- gauge number means a thicker, firmer wire (e.g., 12-gauge is very firm). A higher gauge number
