Critical Specifications & Material Requirements

The Spring: Miniaturized and Corrosion-Proof

Spring Diameter: Must be very small. Target under 15mm (approx. 0.6 inches). These are often called "micro-springs" or "mini-springs."
Spring Height: Typically between 1.5 to 2.5 inches for a pillow application.
Wire Gauge: Very fine, likely in the range of 19-21 gauge.
Material & Corrosion Protection: This is the most critical part. Standard powder coating can be too thick for micro-springs and may not survive repeated washing.
- Best Option: 304 or 316 Stainless Steel. This is the ultimate solution for washability. It is inherently rust-proof and can withstand repeated immersion in water and detergent. It is more expensive but non-negotiable for a true washable product.
- Alternative: High-Carbon Steel with Advanced Coating. If stainless is cost-prohibitive, the wire must be double-dip galvanized and then coated with an extremely flexible, food-grade, waterproof polymer coating. This is less ideal as coatings can theoretically be compromised.
